This evening we had our weekly Bible study with the Wilberforce men’s basketball team. While I will share more later about this experience at a later date I must pause to give God the glory for His mighty works. As we were talking from Acts 5 and about how Jesus is God and claims equality with the Father, questions started streaming toward me. The fella’s were engaged and when we shared the gospel with them again and tried to help them see again that we are all sinners bound for separation from God (hell) and that we have been offered a free gift although it was not free to God because he sacrificed His only Son, Jesus, to be crucified on a cross for our sins. It was not a light occasion as I asked the guys if they were ready to make a decision to follow Christ. With grit and determination nine of the twelve young men prayed to receive Christ. How many ways can you say, ‘God is good”?

This is Lisa Martin…I work with Athletes in Action, but I do some part-time athletic training with Wilberforce…we met a few times there with Don Callan. This is truly awesome news! I have tears of joy just thinking about it! Praise Jesus! I would love to talk to you about how all this came about…those are my boys!
